SO MUCH UPDATE
Evening Update
Wow. I have not done this in a while. A lot has happened since we last left our hero...
Banking
Got an account and funded it (a tiny bit), but I also got the debit card so I could officially start paying for things like GitHub and AWS (keep reading).
GitHub
I officially paid for a corporate account with my new company card! I upgraded from the free version so I could protect the main branches and not fall victim to my lack of discipline.
AWS
I also set up an AWS account so I could host sites, set up DNS, etc. I got a crash course on S3, CloudFront, CodeBranch, Route 53, IAM, and more. That was a frustrating couple of days, but only because of certain fiddly bits have to be juuussst so…
As I got that stuff figured out, I deployed the website and blog! Then, after making sure things were working, I hooked up CI/CD to publish the main branch after a pull request has been successfully merged.
The Blog
Obviously, if you're reading this, I got the blog site up and running. That's news.
Website
Got the website up and running! Just one page, but styled a bit and it's a start.
My Twitter account has been suspended! I didn't even have the opportunity to offend anyone with a post, yet, either. Sigh.
The only way I found out was when I logged in and tried to look at something. Then I get a message saying "You're account has been suspended. Learn more." So I followed the link and all the things they say you can do, I can't, because my account is suspended. All the reason they give for why are vague and wouldn't apply.
They didn't email me. They didn't text me (although they needed my phone # to verify account initially via text). The documentation was less than helpful and mostly vague.
I submitted a help request, but have not heard back in days. I'll keep you updated.
In Conclusion
That's about it for a couple of weeks' work. I'm going to try and enjoy my family for the Independence Day weekend…but I'll probably end up doing some writing or music stuff, too!
